Welcome Note by Prof. Dr. Bernd Engler
As the President of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany, I am delighted to support this prestigious international symposium.
The understanding of the role of insulin signaling and insulin resistance in the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus has made immense progress over the past decades. In addition to groundbreaking results in basic research, many successful translational research projects have made these developments possible.
I am very pleased that scientists from the University of Tübingen have contributed to this fruitful work.
The International Symposium on Insulin Receptor and Insulin Action is a great opportunity to get an overview of recent advances in the field. Numerous eminent scientists will attend and present their latest work.
Besides the talks, important new findings will be displayed on posters. The informal setting of the meeting also provides a platform to get in touch with colleagues, make new contacts and build networks.
I would like to wish all participants a successful conference, with numerous interesting lectures and posters as well as productive discussions.
I hope that you will enjoy your stay in Nice and will also find some time to explore the beautiful city.
